This website documents the work in building digital collections at Amherst College Library. You will find collection pages which summarize current and upcoming digital projects, information about the technical work involved in digitizing collections, details about our massive Amherst College Bicentennial digitization efforts, and a blog that captures the many facets of the work involved in digitizing archives and special collections materials. The website also reflects the collaborative efforts of many members of the library staff, Amherst College community, and others involved in bringing digital collections to the world.

To see all of our currently available digital collections, visit our digital repository, Amherst College Digital Collections (ACDC).

Building digital collections and making connections between people and digital content are primary goals of our Digital Programs Group at Amherst College Library, which comprises staff from the Archives & Special Collections department, Digital Programs department, and Metadata team in the Technical Services department. We hope this website provides you with a deeper glimpse into the work of digitization, and gives you a sense of what we are working to make available from our collections digitally.

If you come across terms on this site which are unfamiliar to you, try checking our glossary to see if we’ve defined them there.
